Rail Freight Group Awards - 2008
The RFG have decided to hold an awards dinner for the rail freight industry in place of the usual party on the evening before the annual AGM and Policy Meeting in Oxford in September.
Having attended many rail awards events over the years, it struck us that rail freight hardly got a look in and that, on very few occasions, were the people who make things happen on a day to day basis recognised.
We therefore decided that we would organise a relatively informal dinner in Oxford, at which we would announce the winners of our Rail Freight Awards competition, covering five categories, and in which virtually all our members could have a chance to enter.
We are very grateful to First GBRf for agreeing to sponsor the awards event.
We do very much hope that you will give this wide publicity within your organisation and encourage as many entries as possible. We will certainly do our best to give maximum publicity to the winners as well as give them a good time at the dinner!
We will keep the awards part of the event as short as practicable, so that there will be plenty of time to hear our guest of honour, Peter Waterman, “Music Mogul and Rail Enthusiast”, who has kindly agreed to give us his thoughts on the railways, music and anything else that comes to mind! He is an old friend, and it will be an honour to have him with us.
Please put this dinner date in your diaries (Dinner Tuesday 16 September, AGM 17 September, both at Oxford) and circulate details of the awards to your colleagues.
