This year’s RFG Scottish Conference will focus on the environment for the growth of rail freight in Scotland

Speakers will look at the policy framework set by Government and stakeholders, including rail policy, decarbonisation, greenports and economic growth. Operators and others in the wider logistics community will discuss building sustainability into business models and what is needed to bring new traffic to rail.

Alex Hynes, Managing Director, Scotland’s Railway, will explain how his organisation supports rail freight. Bill Reeve from Transport Scotland and Frank Roach from Highlands and islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) will join other panellists to discuss the Environment for Growth. Alan Taylor from Story Contracting will talk about building sustainability in rail contracting, while Daniel Fredriksson from Network Rail will look at the challenges and opportunities for high speed logistics. Barry Carruthers, Hydrogen Director at Scottish Power, will discuss developments in the generation, uses and potential means of moving Green Hydrogen.

The event will be held at the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, 81 Holyrood Rd, Edinburgh EH8 8AU.

We will have the usual informal dinner the evening before (Tuesday 26 April), also at the hotel.
