The RFG’s AGM and Autumn Group Meeting will be held on 6 November at Jury’s Inn, Fry Street, Middlesbrough, TS1 1JH.
There will be a dinner on the previous evening of 5 November, also kindly sponsored by PD Ports.
Speakers include Geoff Lippitt from PD Ports who will look at issues and opportunities for the ports industry and the latest developments at Teesport, including the launch of new rail services.
Ashley Stower & Chris Jones from Frazer-Nash Consultancy, a leading systems and engineering technology company, will talk about challenges for rail freight and how lessons learned in other industries such as defence and energy can benefit our sector.
Emissions from rail freight will be discussed by Mark Gibbs from Aether Limited and Neil Grennan-Heaven from Carrickarory Consulting. They will outline recent efforts to better estimate rail emissions and their impact on local air quality, as well as evaluating benefits and investment cases for different emission control measures.
An ‘integrated digitised rail infrastructure platform for freight planning’ will be the subject covered by Amar Ramudhin, Professor & Director, Logistics Institute, University of Hull. His team has recently been awarded a project by Innovate UK to develop the NR+ platform, in close collaboration with Network Rail and the Connected Places Catapult.
Other speakers will be announced shortly and attendees will also be offered the option of a tour of Teesport, hosted by PD Ports.
